Pielmeier plays at IIHF Worlds 2016
German national coach Marco Sturm has announced the final roster for the IIHF World Cup 2016 which is about to start on Friday in Russia. ERC Ingolstadt's Timo Pielmeier has been nominated. Benedikt Kohl, though, who has also been part of the team for the whole preperation can go for vacation. Sturm says: "There were some tough cases which players I should chose for the final roster. All players that have been part of the preperation have worked excellent in the passed weeks. Chapeau!"
Four players from the World cup roster join from NHL-organisations: Leon Draisaitl, Tobias Rieder, Christian Ehrhoff and Korbinian Holzer. Six players will give their World Cup debut: Felix Brückmann, Mathias Niederberger (both G), Daryl Boyle (D), Jerome Flaake, Brooks Macek, Gerrit Fauser (all F).
The team captain will soon be announced. This Monday, the players meet for the final rehearsal versus Switzerland (Wednesday).
